Arrest Made in Gable House Bowl Shooting
Authorities confirmed Monday afternoon during a press conference that an arrest was made in connection with a deadly shooting at Torrance bowling alley Gable House Bowl over the weekend. 47-year-old parolee Reginald Wallace is being held at Los Angeles County jail without bail.
Eye witnesses reported a fight breaking out between a group of women inside the bowling alley on Friday night, blocking the entrance of the building. A few minutes later, gunshots rang out, leaving three dead and four injured. Video footage of the chaos circulated on social media.
It is believed that Wallace pulled a handgun from his pocket and fired into the crowd. The three men killed have been identified by family members as Michael Radford, age 20; Robert Meekins, age 28; and Astin Edwards, also age 28. Two of the men are believed to be survived by young children. Family members told reporters they believed the three men were shot and killed while trying to break up the fight.
Two other men were taken to the hospital for medical treatment, while two others sought medical attention on their own. This is the second fatal shooting to occur at Gable House; in 2005, 27-year-old Mytatiyana Conner was shot in the bowling alley’s parking lot and later died at the hospital. The bowling alley had surveillance cameras and security staff present at the time of Friday’s shooting. No employees were harmed in the incident.
Wallace has been on parole since 2017 after a 17-year incarceration for assault with a deadly weapon involving a firearm. He was arrested early Sunday morning by detectives and SWAT officers near 4th Street and Western Avenue. As a convicted felon, Wallace is prohibited by law from owning or possessing a firearm. Charges are expected to be filed against him later this week.
